Ba Gua
The 8 Signs or 8 Trigrams of Feng Shui and the Classic Book of Changes, I Ching.
From the earliest time the signs of the Ba Gua have provided both spiritual and
practical guidance. The author of the signs has not only revealed the evolving
nature of the interaction of yin and yang with amazing clarity but has formulated
this revelation in manner that is mechanically accessible. Whether one utilizes
the coins and sticks of the oracle, cycles and paths of sky and earth, or predicates
martial, meditative or theoretical practices, the eternal patterns of the Ba Gua
are truly an expression of the Tao beyond simple comment and summation.
What could be more modern than computers? We have finally unlocked the potential
of the age old idea known to everyone as yin and yang. The
Ho Tu was the legendary
basis for the Ba Gua, the 8 symbols or "octal factors of zeros and ones" seen in
the I Ching and on every luopan. Later, once generations
of scholars achieved a comprehensive understanding of the pattern, the
Lo Shu was discovered on the back of turtle.
These Early and Later Heaven patterns, as well as the Change between the patterns
form the basis of many successful esoteric acupuncture patterns including the Hygeia's
Bowl Pattern.
Traditional philosophy explains how the 8 Signs arose from the
Si Xiang, the 4 Phenomena.
