Cymatics

Healing with Sound

The use of sound waves to synchronize cell frequencies back to their natural, healthy state of resonance.

Cymatics is the study of wave phenomena associated with the physical patterns produced through the interaction of sound waves in a medium such as a vibrating water droplet containing fine particles much like a human cell.

The term cymatics was coined by the Swiss scientist Hans Jenny, from the Greek "kyma" meaning "wave", and "ta kymatica" meaning "matters pertaining to waves." His work has been adopted by holistic health practitioners to use sound waves transmitted through the human body to normalize imbalances and synchronize the cell frequencies back to their natural, healthy state of vibrational resonance. Inspired by the work of Ernst Chladni, the father of acoustics and his medical practice, Jenny investigated wave phenomena. Here we see sound gathering a cell's particles into a Dual-tetrahedron, or Merkabah.

I use healing stones and crystals in combination with Chakra Balancing both in honor of Nu Wa and for their Cymatic properties. I practice the usual color associations with the chakras in addition to using tones produced by medical tuning forks. I find that when vibrated to resonance with a chakra certain stones are useful for drawing off an excess of yin or yang energy and conversely some seem to have an additive effect like the push of a child on a swing that although effortless will substantially contributing to the standing wave over time. Although effective by itself, when combined with acupuncture, the chakras can be easily balanced and encoded for individuals without skill in techniques such as Qi Gong, Yoga or immersive visualization.
