Angelica sinensis (Dang Gui)

Angelica sinensis

Dang Gui

I am sure that many of you are familiar with Dang Gui as it is such a good herb for women. Besides nourishing blood Angelica nourishes the liver. Angelica contains B12, and carotene. It also has an antibiotic effect against Streptococcus and Shigella.

Dang Gui has many other functions that are related it to its blood building and blood moving properties. Do you know that it treats tinnitus, blurred vision and palpitations. When I have the flu, the most important function that it has in my chicken soup is to disperse cold and treat my wind damp pain. As it also treats arthritis, I put it in my chicken soup every time I make it. I use one whole slice. I do not use this herb if anyone eating my chicken soup has diarrhea as Angelica also nourishes the intestines and treats constipation.
